POCOCO Panel Discussion & Gallery Hops 2025
Presented by the newly formed Portland Coalition of Art Collectives (POCOCO)
Thursday, June 12th (6pm to 8pm) Panel Discussion in the Pearl @ Blackfish Gallery followed by and Gallery Hop to Waterstone & Gallery 114
Join members of Blackfish Gallery, Carnation, Gallery 114, Waterstone Gallery, and Well Well Projects as we discuss what it means to be part of a cooperative gallery. There is over 100 years of collective experience between these organizations and we want to amplify, celebrate, and discuss challenges together.
Over the course of two panel discussions, these artists will respond to questions such as: what is the collective model? How does this impact and sustain longevity? How does this particular business model support and facilitate artistic freedom and autonomy? How does this model offer services to artists and become an asset to our communities? Why is this so critical now? How are these artists looking to their past in order to shape their future?
Participating Artists: Blackfish Gallery, Christopher Shotola-Hardt; Carnation Gallery, Pamela Hadley; Gallery 114, Jon Gottshall; Waterstone Gallery, Sabina Haque; Well Well Projects, Claire Frances Spaulding
Amanda Triplett, SHIFT Gallery, moderator
SAVE-the-DATE: Saturday, Sept 20th (2pm to 4pm) POCOCO Panel Discussion in Kenton followed by Gallery Hop to Carnation & Well Well, finishing up with a happy hour at local watering hole
