What Remains

Landscape Photographs by Jon Gottshall

These photographs are about water, and how it flows past us. They concern places that are in transition. Most of these places have an industrial history, water being a favored medium of commerce. Yet, somehow in their engineered environment, in the face of obstacles, ignorance and indifference, many species have endured. Every location in this exhibit is in a state of re-vision, from being perceived solely for its economic value to a place that can perhaps also support the habitat it once did.
