Kimber Shiroma
My work responds to the unease of our current moment- a time marked by political polarization, social fragmentation and erosion of the shared truth. Through figurative realism, I explore the quiet spaces where private emotion and public tension converge. The work reflects a search for stability and meaning within a world that often feels chaotic and beyond control.
A desire for control runs through my process. Also, a desire to control fears and desern what is worthy of fear and therefore action. Danger can be unseeable.
My paintings emerge from a need to find clarity amid noise and to hold space for contemplation. Ultimately it is an attempt to witness, and give form to, the emotional undercurrents of life.
